Job Summary

The Senior Internal Auditor will evaluate and assist in improving the effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes. Main activities include assisting in the planning and development of the audit, conducting fieldwork and developing observations. These activities are conducted for audits of Sumitomo Corporation of Americas and subsidiaries and affiliates throughout the Americas.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of an audit team lead, perform audit procedures relative to the assigned audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Department's methodology
• Participate in the scoping, risk assessment, and planning of internal audit activity
• Conduct meetings/walkthroughs with process owners of an assigned audit area to gain an understanding of the respective processes and the controls governing the assigned audit
• Present reports of findings and analysis; identify and recommend improvements both orally and in writing.
• Document key controls and audit results in work papers
• Perform periodic follow-up on audit findings and recommendations to evaluate the adequacy of remediation efforts
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with process owners and stakeholders
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:

Required

• Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Strong organizational skills to meet assignment due dates
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Preferred

• Spanish Language skills

Education, Certification and Experience:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related discipline and 2-4 years of auditing experience.

Preferred

• Professional designation (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA)
• Big 4 accounting background

Physical Requirements:

• Travel is expected to be approximately 15%-30% of the time, including to international locations.
