Job Summary:

 

The Tax Director oversees all aspects of SCOA and its subsidiaries and affiliates’ tax strategy, compliance, planning, and risk management. This role ensures alignment with corporate financial goals, maximizes tax efficiency, and ensures adherence to all local, state, federal, and international tax laws. The Tax Director also provides leadership and guidance to the tax team and advises senior management on tax-related issues.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to optimize SCOA Group tax position.
  • Provide tax advisory support to business departments for acquisitions, dispositions, and Restructuring
  • Identify and implement tax-efficient strategies that align with business goals.
  • Review working papers and supporting documentation required for federal and state income taxes for SCOA and its subsidiaries
  • Review annual and quarterly income tax provision computations under International
  • Accounting Standards (“IAS”) for SCOA and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide tax research support to the Tax and Accounting team.
  • Establishes and develops highly collaborative and professional relationships with colleagues and group companies
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to manage global tax requirements.
  • Support Tax department GM to lead, mentor, and develop the tax department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage projects as assigned by Department General Manager – Tax


 

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills & Abilities
 

Required:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state income tax matters including partnership, reorganization, and M&A
  • Strong knowledge of principles and application of IAS 12 and Accounting Standards Codification (“ASC”) 740 in multi-national corporate setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Good upward and downward communication skills
  • Strong risk assessment and problem solving skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Efficiency in establishing and managing priorities to ensure all commitments
  • Flexible team player who is willing to play both leading and supporting roles as needed basis in all areas of tax department responsibilities
  • Self-starter

 

Education, Certification and Experience:
 

Required:
  • 10+ years in federal and state taxation; in-depth working experience in IAS 12 or ASC 740.
  • 3-5 years of managerial experience. Experience in public accounting
  • Baccalaureate degree in accounting and/or Tax
  • CPA license

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Hybrid work style: Minimum 2 days in the office and 3 days remote work
