Accounts Payable Coordinator ($58,000-70,000)

 

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for verifying and paying vendor invoices for  goods and services on a timely basis while adhering to the company’s policies and procedures and safeguarding against fraud. This position will assist in performing month-end closing duties.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Input, audit, and verify account payable invoices and vouchers daily, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
  • Handle customer service calls from internal & external customers.
  • Prepare appropriate journal entries to ensure accurate accounting of expenses.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to internal business units regarding accounts payable inquiries.
  • Perform regular clearing of intercompany settlement, merchandise in transit, merchandise in transit freight and goods receipt throughout the month.
  • Assist in timely completion of month-end closing procedures.
  • Clear open items and reconcile various general ledger accounts, including Prepaid, Sundry Accounts, Temp Pay, Temp Receipt, merchandise in transit and PO related accounts.
  • Verify and process Travel & Expense reports in Concur/AppZen.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Assist with Special Projects as needed.

 

 

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Strong prioritization and organizational abilities
  • High level of professionalism
  • PC literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe


Preferred:

  • Knowledge of SAP S4 Hana or other versions of SAP (or similar accounting software system)
  • Knowledge of Concur System (or similar expense reporting system)
  • Knowledge of PEGA System (or similar workflow processing system)

 

 

Education, Certification and Experience: 


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area or equivalent experience

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Hybrid work style (Minimum 2 days in the office/week)
