Job Summary:
The Manager, Business Development will research new areas for investment for the Tubular Products Group. This professional will be an integral part of the business development team and play an instrumental role in market research, financial modelling and conducting business due diligence. This position reports to the Department General Manager of ETBD.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Business Development
· Research and evaluate new areas including creating financial models and conducting business diligence.
· Develop business cases and presentations for new potential opportunities, leading analysis of important strategic choices, threats, and opportunities, and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive insights and collaboration across the organization including Tubular group companies (distribution business).
· Lead due diligence reviews of potential areas and conduct due diligence discussions.
· Drive internal approval process (Investment Committee, etc.), including creation of financial models or presentation materials.
· Provides support to facilitate business operations including participating in budget preparation, monthly update reports, etc.
· Participate in defining the strategy internally within Tubular group, group companies, and also with Tokyo head office.
· Travel domestically and internationally, as required.
· Complete other projects as assigned (e.g. work on sustainability initiatives, carbon accounting data collection/publishing associated with Tubular group)
<Required>
· Hands-on involvement in the full M&A lifecycle: sourcing targets, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation analysis, negotiation, execution, and post-merger integration
· Experience developing business cases for potential acquisitions and supporting or leading negotiations (e.g., Term Sheets, Merger Agreements)
· Ability to monitor industry trends, analyze competitive landscapes, and identify strategic opportunities for growth or divestiture
· Proven track record of driving projects forward in ambiguous environments, including coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing timelines
· Strong accounting/financial modeling and analytical skills supported by a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently
· High attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness and timeliness in work
Education, Certification and Experience:
<Required>
· Experience: 6+ years’ experience providing opportunity to exercise analytical skills
· Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in business, finance, accounting or related area or equivalent experience.

Experience gained in an industry role (e,g. Oil & Gas, Oil Field Service), investment banking, private equity or consulting.
