Account Representative ($81,000 - $98,000 + 10% STI Target)

 

Job Summary:

The Carbon & Steel Raw Materials Department has 2 major businesses, (i) Carbon products trading and (ii) New business development related to the Carbon & Steel Raw Materials industry. 

The Account Representative will primarily support and manage carbon products trading activities and will report directly to the Department General Manager and/or Account Manager. This role is responsible for maintaining and expanding existing business, strengthening client and supplier relationships, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives across North America. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the existing import business of cathode blocks to Aluminum smelters in North America. 
  • Manage the existing import business of graphite electrode and related carbon material to Steel mills in North America. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers through regular communication and both virtual and in-person engagement. Coordinate and support site visits, including facilitating visits between client and supplier facilities 
  • Analyze global steel and aluminum markets to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and new business opportunities. 
  • Support strategic planning and business development efforts, including identifying opportunities for market expansion. 
  • Manage daily operational processes, including credit applications, insurance claims, budget planning and track financial performance, including preparation of reports. 
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. 
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as needed.

<Preferred>

  • Knowledge of Aluminum Smelting Operation 
  • Knowledge of Steel EAF operation 
  • Bilingual Japanese skills

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Hybrid work style (minimum 2 days/week on site) 
  • Business travel includes domestic travel (approximately twice per month) and international travel (approximately twice per year). 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • There is no visa sponsorship/ support provided for this position
